Penn State Homecoming 2008

The 2008 Penn State football season will kick-off with the traditional TailGreat, held in the Bryce Jordan Center! This year's first TailGreat will be co-sponsored by Homecoming and feature games and prizes commemorating the great traditions of Penn State. TailGreat is a family-oriented event consisting of children's games, performances by the Blue Band, Cheerleaders, and Lionettes, and merchandise sales. Come out and support your Nittany Lions!

Final Registration is for all organizations participating in Homecoming this year. This event is mandatory and all organizations must attend to turn in money, finalize registration, and turn in items necessary for other Homecoming activities. Homecoming Night Out at Cafe 210. A portion of the cover charge will be donated to Homecoming, and spirit points will be awarded, so please come out and support Homecoming!

Stop in and enjoy some delicious ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery with your friends! Homecoming will receive a portion of the sales, so please come out and support the committee.

This year's Homecoming Blood Drive will be held in the HUB. Bonus spirit points will be given to organization members who donate.

Homecoming kick-off event for first-year students in East Halls. Performances by a variety of clubs and organizations as well as appearances by Cheerleaders, the Nittany Lion, and Penn State Athletes. Free food, games, and prizes will also be available.

First annual celebration of Penn State Homecoming's progression throughout the years. This event will be held all day in the HUB and will include performances by a variety of clubs and organizations as well as appearances by Cheerleaders, the Nittany Lion, and Penn State Athletes. Airbands is a fun-filled night of lip synching and choreography. Come cheer on your favorite organizations as they compete for the Airbands title! This year there will be lots of laughs and even surprises, so come early for a good seat! You don't want to miss this event!

Nittany Pursuit is a campus-wide scavenger hunt that will test your stamina, smarts, and Penn State pride! There are 6 stops on the route, and it will be a great chance to meet the Homecoming court!

Homecoming Night Out will feature the Original Cover Band, Spider Kelly, and Audio Imagery live at the Gingerbread Man on Heister St. A portion of the cover charge will be donated to Homecoming. Bonus spirit points will be given to organization members who attend.

Raise the Song is an 18+ event held at the Cell Block. Come support your fellow student bands as they compete for the title of Band Bash champion! The winning band will be given the opportunity to perform at THON 2009!

The Student/Alumni Ice Cream Social is a great event that brings together current Penn State students and alumni. Held at the Hintz Family Alumni Center on Friday, October 17, the social gives students the opportunity to connect with alumni over our famous Creamery ice cream while enjoying entertainment provided by the Alumni Blue Band, the Nittany Lion, and the Penn State Cheerleaders.

The Pep Rally is an all-ages event which brings the whole Penn State community together. Come show off your Penn State pride right at the heart of Old State. There will be special appearances from all of your Penn State favorites: the cheerleaders, Blue Band, and even the football team! Stay until the end where we crown the 2008 Penn State Homecoming King and Queen!

The Alumni Tailgate Competition showcases one of Penn State's greatest football traditions: tailgating. Interested competitors can log onto homecoming.psu.edu to register for the competition which takes place Saturday, October 18 before our game against Michigan. The competition will award tailgates that exemplify Penn State's spirit as well as outstanding food variety, and decorations.
