Rene Garcia is a senior from Herndon, Virginia, and is majoring in forensic
chemistry. He is the President of the Blue and White Society, serves as a Resident
Assistant and is on the Penn State cheerleading team.
Garcia notes that his first football game as a Penn State cheerleader is very
memorable because running the flags that spell out ‘Penn State’ on the field was
something he dreamed of doing.
Garcia expects that he and the other court members will become a close family
while engaging in a month filled with new experiences.
When asked what Penn State Homecoming means to him, Garcia said, “Penn State
Homecoming is all about history and tradition, but, on a deeper level, it is the time of
the year where everyone is given the chance to come back to their Alma Mater. “To me it is a way for the greater Penn State
community to live their ritual.”
