Special Events Director

Hi Penn State! My name is Ann Marie DiPietro and I have the privilege of serving as your Special Events Director for Homecoming 2009! I am a senior Nursing student with a double major in Women's Studies, and I look forward to attending graduate school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife in the Fall of 2010. I am from the land of Phillies, Eagles, and Wawa - Philadelphia!

On campus, I am the Project Director for the TREMIN Women's Research Program as well as a student in the Schreyer Honors College. I also served as the 2008 Panhellenic President. And, this past year, I was honored to serve on the 2008 Homecoming Court. I was Inspired by Tradition!

I have been a part of the Homecoming celebration through my affiliation with Greek Life since I was a freshman; however, my presence on the Homecoming Court this year inspired me to become involved in a different way. The Penn State Homecoming Celebration, one of the largest in the country, is one that both honors the traditions of our great University as well as ensures the enjoyment of students, faculty, and alumni alike. As a first generation Nittany Lion, the Homecoming Celebration solidified in my mind what school spirit and pride truly means.

I am thrilled to contribute to the success of Homecoming 2009 through the many "Special Events!"

Thank you to my family - Mom, Dad, Stephen, Christine, Molly - for your unconditional support and love; to the friends who have left "paw prints" on my heart; and to the 2009 Executive Committee for your commitment to the best Homecoming yet. Working together with the other members of the Executive Committee, I am confident that Special Events and Homecoming as a whole will be a success - a celebration which honors what it truly means to be a Penn Stater. For the glory!
