Homecoming has historically encompassed all that is true to Penn State tradition. In past years, service has become a growing part of that tradition at University Park with Homecoming Day of Service.
This year's Homecoming Day of Service will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, beginning at 11 a.m. The day is designed to encourage Penn State students to actively participate in service projects throughout the community and bring a positive image to the entire Penn State community.
Students will meet at Heritage Hall in the HUB on the morning of Sept. 23 and will receive a free T-shirt before moving to their assigned service site in the community.
All organizations competing in Homecoming will receive spirit points for participating in the Day of Service. First year and independent students are also encouraged to register. Day of Service offers a chance to volunteer throughout the community while interacting with fellow students.
