2018 Captain Application

Applications can be turned in to the Homecoming office (227B HUB) between 10:00am and 5:00pm on the 26th. If you are unable to make those times, please contact the Executive Director. The following materials must be submitted in a sealed 9x12 manila envelope in 227B HUB. Please label the envelope with your name, top three committee choices, and “2018 Homecoming Captain Application”. Please include: 1 copy of your Application (includes cover page above and questions), 1 copy of your resume, 2 professional references with contact information (i.e. advisor, employer, student org officer), and a typical weekly schedule for the spring ’18 semester including class times, organization meetings, and work. You will sign up for an interview at the time of submitting your application. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.

How would this benefit a committee?

Responsibilities of all Captains include:

  • Weekly committee meetings and Director one-on-one meetings
  • Participate in two Homecoming fundraisers (i.e. BJC concession stands, Stadium Cleanup, etc.) 
  • Write weekly, mid-year, and final reports and participate in year-end wrap up meetings
  • Participate in collaborative groups and work closely with other Directors and Captains
  • Attend all events (internal workshops, committee events, and Homecoming events)
  • Actively engage in recruitment of committee members
  • Assist other committees during Homecoming week (assist with security on parade day if you do not have any other assigned responsibilities)
