Austin’s Story

Austin Webster

My Penn State Story started well before I even stepped foot on campus. Having half of my family graduate from Penn State, it was obvious where I was going to end up. I only applied to Penn State, so I was relying completely on this university and this university alone for my education. If I wasn’t a Nittany Lion, I wasn’t going to college. However, my first time on campus wasn’t until move in day my Freshman year. I made my decision based on one thing: stories. Stories from family, friends, even strangers on the internet. All the stories, as well as mine, seem to include the same elements: amazing people, fun times, and unmatched Penn State pride. Without Penn State I wouldn’t have met my closest friends. I wouldn’t have had the chance to put on the country’s greatest Homecoming celebration, not to mention Penn State’s 100th. To top it all off I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of watching Penn State block a certain field goal from some school in Ohio (24-21 if I remember correctly, ring any bells?). I couldn’t have asked to be a part of a better University or community. The memories I’ve gathered are unforgettable, the people I’ve met irreplaceable; this is a glimpse into my Penn State Story.
