MEET PENN STATE HOMECOMING’S LOGISTICS OFFICER
After a year of being apart, this Homecoming Week will be a celebration to welcome home all members of the Penn State family. Throughout this past year, we saw our community adapt and overcome challenges like never before. These unprecedented times have shown the strength that lies within our community and inspired the theme for Homecoming 2021— Together, State Prevails.
The Officer position was established in 2020. With this being said, I am only the second person to serve in this position. Since most in-person events were canceled or moved to a virtual platform in 2020, this year will be the first year that the Outreach Officer and I will be utilized to help facilitate and execute a week of entirely in-person Homecoming events. Throughout the year, my role has revolved around supporting the seven logistics-related Committees (Distribution Management, Financial Management, Internal Development, OPPerations, Parade, Pride Events and Talent Relations) by providing them with resources and helping them to achieve their goals. I have been consistently impressed with the love and passion that this team brings to the work that they do. There is not a manual for how to plan events while recovering from a global pandemic and we have certainly faced our fair share of challenges along the way. I could not be more excited to see our hard work come into fruition as we celebrate alongside students, alumni and community members this year!
