The Color Run at Penn State
Monday, September 25, 2016, 4:30pm
Medlar Field at Lubrano Park
The Color Run was created in 2011 and is advertised as the “Happiest 5K on the Planet.” Runners are required to wear white at the start, allowing them to be doused in various colors at each kilometer marking during the untimed race. The start-line window will open at 9 a.m. and waves going every few minutes until 10 a.m. At the Color Run, the start line is its own pre-race party with music, dancing, warm-up stretching and giveaways. Proceeds will benefit Penn State’s Homecoming Committee.

Past to Present Celebration

Join us at the HUB for a celebration of the past and present! There will be entertainment, interactive booths and activities, as well as a setup of the Penn State Sports Museum by George and Sue Henning. This event is free and a great way to kick off the week of Homecoming activities!
Student-Alumni Ice Cream Social
Friday, October 7, 2016, 1:00-4:00pm
Stop by Robb Hall at the Hintz Family Alumni Center and savor some Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream while mingling with other Penn Staters and students. Enjoy entertainment from the Alumni Blue Band, the Penn State cheerleaders and the lively Nittany Lion, as well as guest appearances by the Grand Marshal Keegan-Michael Key, Honorary Grand Marshal Ian Rosenberger, and members of the First-Year, Student, University, and Alumni Courts! The event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association.
Friday, October 7, 2016, 6:00pm
Cheer on student and alumni groups from the curb at the Homecoming Parade, beginning at 6:00pm Spectators line up along College Avenue and throughout the streets on campus to watch students demonstrate Penn State pride by walking along the parade route or showing their elaborate float designs for the Float Competition. The parade will officially step off in front of Pennypacker Hall at 6:00pm Roads will close at 5:30pm.

Guard the Lion Shrine

Do you love tailgating and getting in the Penn State spirit on game day? Register to enter our Tailgate Competition, held prior to the Homecoming Football game, for the chance to share your pride and win spirited prizes! Registration is free and open to anyone with a tailgate, judging categories include Best Food, Most Creativity, Most Penn State Spirit, and Best Overall Tailgate. Alumni Zone Tailgate
Saturday October 8, 2016, 3:30-6:30pm (post Football game)
Multi-Sports Facility (on University Drive south of the Bryce Jordan Center and beside the outdoor track)
After the big Homecoming game against Indiana on Oct. 10, join the Alumni Association for a post-game tailgate with hundreds of fans and alumni. Enjoy a complete tailgate buffet with cash bar and Penn State goodies like grilled stickies and Berkey Creamery ice cream. Entertainment by the Alumni Blue Band, Alumni Majorettes, and Alumni Lionettes.
